Home Office Reno | Family Update

As you all know I usually have some sort of project going on, the latest being establishing our home office space. Following the restrictions last year when we were unable to use our office, like so many people, we adapted to working from home. It basically came down to me at the island; Bruce at the desk in what used to be Nick’s room; Jonathon at his desk in his room and Nick in his den at his place. We’ve always had an office set up in the basement, but somehow the idea of heading down there to spend hours at a time was not appealing.

After much deliberation, we decided to change our rarely used, formal living room into a properly functioning permanent office space. It took me a while to source out the right furniture because it is right at the front of the house and I, being type A, had to find something that would blend with the rest of the decor of the house…Anyway, I finally found the right fit and placed the order. Like so many things these days, there was a lengthy delay before they could deliver it, but I’m happy to say everything is in place now and working perfectly. I dealt with Stoney Creek Furniture and their customer service was very good. It’s an ideal space to welcome our clients if they prefer meeting with us here, rather than at our Re/Max office.
As crazy as it may sound, it did take me a week or so to get used to seeing office furniture in my “living room” when I came downstairs in the morning, but it really is working well, and there are no more files spread between the dining room table and the island! Everything for work is now easily accessible and organized, which has reduced my stress level big time!

We would love to hear how you have adapted your living space to make areas for working from home and accommodate the kids’ online learning. If you need ideas on how to reconfigure your home, we have a great Featured Client in this Newsletter, Andrea Martin, who can help.
Take care everybody!
