Fireplace Reno

Fireplace Reno

Having procrastinated for long enough I finally decided to do some research into options available to enhance our fireplace interior. We had a new mantle built and gas logs installed a few years back, but the contractor did not make any recommendations at the time on how we could improve the aesthetic of the inside of the fireplace so that it wouldn’t just look like “the black hole” when the logs were not lit. After doing some online searching, I discovered a Company from the US that makes firebricks. We have an extensive directory of fabulous Tradespeople but it didn’t include a Stone Mason. I called the Canadian distributor of Firerock and they recommended a contractor. I gave Dale a call and he agreed to take the job. As you can see from the before and after shots, he did a great job and we are looking forward to using it this winter. The herringbone pattern I chose required a lot of cutting, as you can imagine, but Dale was patient, arrived on schedule and completed the work in a couple of days.

As we are spending more time than usual at home these days, it’s hardly surprising that we want to address those projects we’ve been contemplating for a while. If you need help finding a trustworthy contractor or are curious about whether your proposed update/improvement will give you a worthwhile return on your investment, give us a call. We’re always happy to help.
