Embrace the Outdoors this Summer

We’ve put together a few ideas for fun and inexpensive ways to get outdoors during these precious summer months.

Why not turn your backyard or balcony into a fitness area when the weather is too lovely to be indoors at the gym? Maybe, space permitting, you could invite a few friends and include some free weights, mats and great upbeat music to fuel your motivation. Then, rather than using the treadmill or Peloton in your basement, get out and enjoy the many trails your neighbourhood offers.

Gardening is another great activity, not only for exercise but also for stress relief. Include the kids and encourage them to start a small vegetable or herb garden that you can enjoy in your summer salads.

Afternoons are generally the hottest time of day, but if it’s not too humid, why not take your mat outside and enjoy some yoga and meditation in the open air.

On hotter days, washing your car is an excellent way to cool off, other than a swimming pool. So you can stay cool and be productive!

Dinner and a movie outdoors are great ways to wind down from a productive day. Alternatively, why not bring out those board games or a pack of cards and take advantage of the warm summer nights.

We know summer doesn’t last nearly long enough in Canada, so why not make a concerted effort to enjoy it to the max with family and friends!
